How to decode gematria

gematria is a numerological system that assigns numerical values to letters of the alphabet, words, and phrases. It is an ancient practice believed to have originated in ancient Israel and has been used for centuries in various cultures with minor variations. While its origin is contested, it has been used to decipher complex religious and philosophical texts, as well as guide ritual practices.

The basics of Gematria involve assigning each letter of the alphabet a numerical value. For example, A=1, B=2, C=3, and so on down the alphabet until Z = 26. By assigning meaning to individual numbers through their placement in a sequence the researchers of ancient texts were able to explore incredibly detailed relationships between numbers and words.

When applying Gematria to decode a text, one must first identify all the gematrically significant words or phrases in the text. This can include names or titles of people or places as well as important concepts which may be encoded within these titles. With each word identified its corresponding numerical value must be calculated by totaling up the number associated with each letter within it.

Once numerical values have been assigned to all relevant words their relationships can then be examined for patterns or correlations between different words' respective values. The adjacent numbers may indicate related themes surfacing from their combination or could suggest that nothing significant has been revealed from them being together in this pattern. Understanding any underlying themes is critical when looking for hidden messages within a text that may not be obvious at first glance.
